Vintage Hawaiian hand carved  root sculpture from single stock into portrait
Vintage Hawaiian root sculpture. A smooth polished face with serenely closed eyes emerges from the natural gnarled root stock. The lovely, slightly abstracted face could be that of either a man or a woman. This sculpture was found in, and brought back from, Hawaii in the 1970's. Very finely and sensitively carved, but unsigned. Measures 20 inches high and weighs 9 lbs.

I put local pick up in the items description because Ebay always seems to put to low a price for shipping valuable or fragile items that have to be shipped and properly insured, like this item. We use several different movers that only ship antiques, UPS and the USPO for smaller items, whatever they charge is what you would pay. But yes, I would be happy to take care of that after I get their shipping quote.
