This beautiful bowl is handcrafted from Hawaiian Kolohala, otherwise known as pheasant wood, and is not known to grow anywhere outside of Hawaii.  Kolohala is a prized wood in Hawaii, and is known to be the rarest and most valuable.
This wood produces shades of light to dark brown with fine black grain, which very much resembles the feathers of our local Hawaiian pheasant.  It is nearly impossible to find the quality and size of this rare wood to make such a bowl as this.
Crafted from a local generational skilled woodturner here on Oahu, Hawaii, this bowl is brand new, and available to purchase.
